Climbingtour invites you to live new experiences during your horseback riding vacations in the Ecuadorian territory. We organize the horseback riding tours to unforgettable destinies, enjoying the richness of a mega diverse country. For this we have docile horses, dashing horses identical to the personality and exigency of our riders. Every group will be directed by CHAGRAS (andean horseback riders), they are native people from the zone, so they know very well the ways where to ride. Our tourists also will have the opportunity to dress with the typical Zamarros and Ponchos from the Chagras.

During the horseback riding, which in some spans will be to gallop others slowly, it will be possible observe wild animals and exceptional landscapes with the majestic volcanoes that shape our Andean mountain chain.

Horseback riding to the Geobotanical Reserve Pululahua

DAY 1: Transport from Quito to the Green Horse Ranch, inside the National Reserve Pululahua , about 40 miles north from Quito. Already the jeep-ride is a true experience that offers outstanding picture-stops. From the ranch, robust and amiable mountain horses will take us through the stunning landscape of this ancient volcanic crater - the biggest one on the whole American continent and one of only two inhabited craters in the world.

With its constantly changing sceneries and huge bio-diversity. While circling the inner cone, we witness volcanic history and nature, interesting geological formations, mineral avalanches blooming with wild orchids and traditional Andean agriculture.
Riding time about 4 hours. Lunch with panoramic view over valleys and cloud forest covered mountains. Optional photo-stop at the Ecuadorian monument Mitad del Mundo. Transport back to Quito. End of our services

Two day ride from Hacienda la Alegria to Cotopaxi

General Information: This trip will give you a taste of the wild paramos of Ecuador.

DAY 1: Riding difficulty: Moderate. Riding time 7 hours
We start our ride from Hacienda La Alegria, toward the south of Machachi climbing the slopes of Ruminahui through sandy "wild west" scenery. Once on the high ridge (c.4200m) the magnificent cone of Cotopaxi presents itself. Other peaks visible from here include the Ilinizas and Sincholagua. We take a break here for lunch and marvel at the scenery. In the afternoon we continue around the rocky shoulder of Ruminahui and into the Cotopaxi basin. The bleak and windswept terrain is releaved by the appearance of an idyllic lake, Limpiopungo, close to the base of Cotopaxi. In the late afternoon we arrive at a cozy lodge where hot showers and a filling dinner are the fitting reward for seven hours in the saddle.

DAY 2: Riding difficulty: Moderate. Riding time 5 hours
In the morning you will be able to appreciate the incredible view of the Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world, just in front of us. We continue the ride through the valley at the base of the mountain towards the older volcanic cone of Pasochoa, which will be our guide back along the old still used by "Chagras" - Andean cowboys - who we are likely to encounter on our way.
